As the name implies, Soul Purpose is . . . steeped in a true Soul/R&B tradition that offers the audience a combination of dance hits and soulful sounds from the '60's to the '80's. With 11 members, including a 4-piece horn section, they regularly cover tunes by such artists as Aretha Franklin, James Brown, Stevie Wonder, Tina Turner, Marvin Gaye, Donna Summer and Gladys Knight. All throughout the Atlanta area, you will find them playing nightclubs, weddings, private parties, swamp buggy races, prison socials, corporate takeovers, civic events, backyard bar-b-cues, hollarin' contests and other festivals. Soul Purpose has also recently been booked to open for artists such as Peter Noone, Mickey Dolenz and Bobby Sherman for The Teen Idol Tour, The Beach Boys, The Tams, The Swinging Medallions, while appearing at The Macon Cherry Blossom Festival, Stone Mountain's Yellow Daisy Festival, Suwanee Days Festival, Six Flags Over Georgia and Lake Lake Lanier Islands' concert series.
